The level manager allows users to set up floor levels. This is useful for organizing your drawing. The following toolbar will allow you to add as many levels a required for your building. To access the Level Manager toolbar Click on the view menu then click on toolbars. Choose the SCADD menu group in the toolbar dialog box then Click on the _General - Levels toolbar.
The Level Manager Dialog box allows you to create different levels for your structure. The following is a sample dialog box with Levels already added.
In the Level Manager Dialog box add levels as required for your structure. To Add a level, click on Add and provide a Name and an Elevation then Click OK. Its that easy! Elevations can be relative or actual. Once you have the levels that you like, you can save these as your default, then Load them for the next project. To view individual levels in model space or in a viewport in paperspace use the View Level Dialog box seen below.
To access the View Levels dialog box from the pull-down menus, click on the Scadd menu, then Level Manager then on View Levels. Or click on the following button from the _General - Levels toolbar of the SCADD menu group.
In the View Levels dialog box, you can easily show a level or set of levels by either double-clicking on a level or selecting multiple levels (hold down Cntr key while selecting).
Any objects that you wish to see in all level views, just draw them while in the reference level. If the Reference Level check box is enabled, then all objects on that level will be visible no matter what level you select.
To copy objects from one level to another:
Click on Level to be the Target Level.
Click on the Set Current button.
Click on Copy.
Select all object to be copied to other level.
To move objects from one level to another:
Click on Level to be the Target Level.
Click on the Set Current button.
Click on Move.
Select all object to be moved to other level.
Combine multiple levels into groups to easily manage the floor plans.
To combine multiple levels into a group:
While holding down the Cntr key, highlight the levels to be combined.
Select the <- button to add a new group.
Type in name of new group and select the default level for this group.
Click OK.
To remove a group from this group list box.
Highlight the group to be removed.
Click on the -> button.
To plot a level or group for framing plans etc. setup a viewport in paperspace at the appropriate scale.
Tip: If using scale fences you can automatically scale up your view by centering the objects within the scale fence then click on the Scadd Menu then Click on Drawing Scale then Click on Set by Pick. See Plotting for more information
After you have got the viewport setup. Follow these steps:
Double-click inside the viewport you wish to configure with View Levels.
Call the View Levels Dialog box (see above).
Double-click on the level or group you wish to view. Scadd Draft will automatically freeze and/or thaw the appropriate layers for the levels or group selected.
