The Scadd Draft Shape Library contains both K-Series and LH/DLH-Series bar joists. To access the Bar Joist dialog box click on the Steel menu, then Joists, then either K-Series or LH/DLH-Series. The following dialog box will appear.
This dialog box allows you to draw a K-Series Bar Joist from three view points, three insert points and add top chord and bottom chord extensions. Also, if the view point is set to Section, then you have the option of hatching the steel as well as showing a bearing angle.
Keep a list of frequently used shapes in the Favorites list.
To add a shape to the favorites list:
Highlight the size of the shape you wish to add in the size list.
Click on the <- button underneath the favorites list.
To remove a shape from the favorites list:
Highlight the size of the shape you wish to remove from the favorites list.
Click on the -> button underneath the favorites list.
Tip: you can start drawing the shape in the favorites list by double-clicking on the shape.

Section: Draws a section of the shape.
Top: Draws the top view of the shape.
Side: Draws the side view of the shape.
Note: Different options will enable and/or disable depending on the view point selected.
Top: Draws the shape with the top as the insertion point when placing object into drawing.
Center: Draws the shape with the center as the insertion point when placing object into drawing.
Bottom: Draws the shape with the bottom as the insertion point when placing object into drawing.
TCX: Top chord extension from reference point (valid for side and top views only).
BCX: Bottom chord extension from reference point (valid for side and top views only).
Hatch:
On - Draw steel hatching (section view only).
Off - Omit steel hatching (section view only).
Brg Ang:
On - Draw bearing angle (section view only).
Off - Omit bearing angle (section view only).
